Tobias van Amstel is co-founder and CEO of Altitude. He brings to the table a strong history of building and exiting successful web2 technology companies before fully embracing decentralised finance in 2020. This background gives him a deep understanding of product development, business execution, and what it takes to scale a startup from idea to real-world impact.

At Altitude, Tobias applies a deep, hands-on understanding of DeFi lending and yield generation gained from more than 5 years as a power user. His firsthand experience managing complex positions across protocols gives him clear insight into where borrowers struggle. He uses this perspective to guide Altitude’s product direction, ensuring the protocol addresses real user pain points while remaining simple and intuitive to operate.

Ivailo Jordanov is a founding contributor to Altitude, bringing a deep blend of software development, investment acumen, and product insight to the team. With prior experience as a software developer turned VC, he has evaluated and helped scale numerous early-stage projects across web3, blockchain, and deep-tech sectors.

Altitude was originally the brainchild of Ivailo and Tobias, created to solve a personal challenge they faced in managing complex DeFi loans across multiple protocols. Frustrated by the manual effort required to track positions, react to market movements, and avoid liquidations, they set out to build an automated system that could handle this complexity reliably on behalf of the user.

Ronald van Spronsen is the co-founder and CTO of Altitude, where he leads smart contract development, automation, and risk systems. With over a decade of experience building secure, user-focused digital products, he brings deep technical insight and a sharp eye for reliability and predictability.

After seeing how early DeFi lending platforms struggled with complexity and poor user experience, Ronald set out to create something better. The result is Altitude - a protocol that simplifies crypto-backed borrowing by managing complexity for the user, not creating more of it.
